Within the configuration of the organizational structure of the Movement, the General Council in its meeting of last October 13 decided to renew Juan Carlos Díaz as delegate to energize the action of our Movement in JPIC (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation).
Married and father of a family, Juan Carlos is a member with his wife of the community of San Pedro Sula, in Honduras, from which he has been animating for 17 years work in defense of life and commitment to the social reality towards which he has always shown great sensitivity. In 2013 he was appointed as Delegate of the General Council for JPIC, and since then he has been rendering this service which seeks to reinforce the action of the Movement in this important area of our missionary activity, sensitizing the groups and laity of the Movement in the questions of Solidarity and Mission, and channeling information on the problems and situations of injustice existing in any part of the world, always in coordination with the other branches of the Claretian family.
The impulse of the action of the Movement around JPIC is one of the strategic lines approved in the last General Assembly, which the Council wants to face by forming a SOMI Team (Solidarity and Mission) under the coordination of Juan Carlos as Delegate that can work in network and vertebrate the action of the Movement from the different local realities. The General Council would like to thank Juan Carlos both for his dedication during these years and for his generous collaboration in continuing to assume this service, and to collaborate with the Council in the attainment of new objectives.

We continue to remember in our prayers the intensions of the Amazon Synod as we consider what is our to do to courageously stand against the injustices of the Indigenous people and determine ways to move forward together. The important outcome for this final week will be determining a direction for a new path for the Church and for an Integral pathway.

21 October—10 am to 12 pm. The Impacts of Mining from the Perspective of Laudato Si’. An opportunity to know the issues and the struggles related to mining in Brazil and in other countries. Esta exposición es un reconocimiento a la trayectoria y los saberes construidos durante más de 20 años por los grupos Artesanías Choibá de Quibdó y Guayacán de Bojayá, conformados por mujeres víctimas del conflicto armado en el Medio Atrato chocoano que acudieron a los oficios artesanales textiles como alternativa para reconstruir sus vidas.
Con la misma fuerza de las raíces de los árboles de Choibá y Guayacán sus trabajos se arraigan en el cuidado de la vida, el trabajo comunitario y las redes de solidaridad entre
los pueblos del Atrato. La continuidad de sus procesos ha sido posible por el apoyo recibido de la Pastoral Social de la Diócesis de Quibdó y distintas organizaciones e instituciones.
Hoy se enfrentan a muchos retos como artesanas y lideresas para que sus semillas crezcan en nuevas generaciones, los saberes artesanales textiles sean valorados para reparar la vida y las redes de trabajo continúen floreciendo.
En referencia a lo que está ocurriendo en Venezuela Juan Carlos Días, sc, nuestro Delegado de Justicia, Paz e Integridad de la Creación (JPIC) comparte con nosotros un comunicado de los religiosos de América Latina (lo tenéis adjunto a esta noticia). Nosotros como familia Claretiana también tenemos presente a nuestros hermanos Seglares, a los claretianos y a las misioneras Claretianas que continúan acompañado las luchas de aquel pueblo.
Os compartimos una nueva carta que nos hace llegar nuestro hermano Juan Carlos desde Honduras ante la situación de emigración masiva que está sufriendo el país:
"Querido hermanos:
Quiero compartir con vosotros que estoy muy consternado por la situación por la que estamos pasando en nuestro país, Honduras. Tenemos que de aquí de la parroquia fue de dónde más personas en un inicio conformaron la caravana en busca de un mejor futuro. Aquí en Honduras seguiremos apostando por alcanzar justicia ante tanta impunidad. Hoy los empresarios aliados al gobierno proclaman que aquí hay fuentes de trabajo y respeto a los derechos laborales. En nuestros análisis de la realidad mensual siempre salía a relucir que Honduras estaba apunto de estallido y ésta realidad interpelada a la luz del evangelio nos hace seguir como pueblo trabajando por la justicia.
Los obispos se han reunido y le han llamado una emergencia humanitaria. Nosotros le hemos llamado un holocausto, pues este camino que desde ya hace mas de treinta años nuestros hermanos han sufrido muchas injusticias, secuestros, extorsiones y hasta la muerte en busca de un mejor futuro. El gobierno nunca se ha preocupado por abogar por estos jóvenes niños que a diario salen de nuestras terminales de buses en dirección de la frontera.
Quiero pedir de manera especial que podamos trabajar unidos como movimiento en promover la justicia y defender la dignidad de las personas.
Quiero comentar que he participado del en encuentro a nivel de América de Solidaridad y Misión y seguimos trabajando en la reflexión y acompañamiento de los siguientes temas en derechos humanos, migración y extractivismo.
Aquí en Honduras oramos y trabajamos por mejorar y hacer que nuestro Movimiento este vinculado a estas luchas sociales. Pedimos oración por todos nuestros hermanos centroamericanos que de igual manera sufren las injusticias de estos gobiernos neoliberales donde el rico cada vez es mas rico y el pobre mas pobre.
En el corazón inmaculado de María ponemos nuestras ilusiones."
